    Creating storage in a bedroom

A good declutter is the best way to start creating storage in your bedroom. How many of the possessions stored in your sleeping space do you actually use? Once you’ve done this, you’ll know how much storage you need to create an attractive, functional, and relaxing bedroom. A space where you calmly drift off to sleep and then start the following day without the stress of searching for clothes, shoes, and accessories. To help you go from clutter to calm, we’ve put together a few bedroom storage tips.

    Make the most of headboards

A pretty headboard is useful for reading in bed but with some creative thought, can also be used to provide clever storage. In smaller rooms, a built-in headboard can incorporate reading lights, bookshelves, small drawers, and even cable management for charging your tech overnight. Another way to maximize the bed space is by putting a bookcase or chest of drawers at the end of the bed. Make it the same width as your bed and with some clever color coordination, it can be the focal point of the room and under the bed

Beds take up a lot of room in bedrooms so it pays to make the most of them. Divan beds have drawers beneath which are ideal for storing towels, spare bedding, and bulkier items. If your bed doesn’t have drawers, pretty fabric boxes do the job just as well. A lift-up ottoman bed provides even more space for items to disappear out of sight. A quirky yet useful idea is storing books upright under the bed. Use all three sides of the bed for maximum storage. The books add instant color and texture to a room and are easy to grab for your bedtime read.

Think outside the box (or basket)

If you still need more storage space, it’s time to be even more creative. Plain or colorful baskets and boxes made from natural materials bring in a decorative and textural element as well as holding a surprising amount. Mix and match circular and rectangular baskets and boxes for visual appearance and fill them with magazines, hair-styling tools, or even your shoes and handbags. A wood chest or one with a padded lid placed at the end of the bed not only provides storage but somewhere to sit as well. Cover it in a deep shade of velvet to add a touch of opulence to your bedroom decor.

    A few final thoughts

With boxes sorted, it’s time to be even more imaginative. Glass boxes sit neatly on shelves and store jewelry in a decorative way. Or, hang a corkboard on a wall and use pins to hang necklaces and bracelets. Earrings can be pushed straight into the cork. Over-door hangers are also a great way of keeping jewelry untangled and bags visible. Even a rattan or lacquered screen can be put to good use. Block off a corner of the room with it and hide away your laundry basket or shoe boxes.

The basic building block of good bedroom storage is your furniture. This should be chosen to fit into your bedroom and give plenty of space. A careful configuration of hanging rails, shelves, and drawers ensures your clothes, shoes, and accessories are neatly stored and easily accessible. Tylko’s offer of bedroom storage help you provides all the space, versatility, and aesthetic appeal you want.
