Creative Wellbeing Hub Newport launch The Big Give to DOUBLE your donations!

Inside Out Cymru

From Tuesday, March 19th to Tuesday, March 26th, Inside Out Cymru in collaboration with The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre, have launched a fundraising campaign with The Big Give. During this week-long initiative, donations from the public will be matched pound-for-pound, DOUBLING contributions to support the Creative Wellbeing Hub.

Now in its third year, the Creative Wellbeing Hub provides craft and creative writing workshops specifically aimed at those struggling with their wellbeing – be that through loneliness, anxiety, or other diagnoses. The weekly classes allow participants to meet like-minded people in a non-judgemental, friendly, and supportive environment.

“We’re excited to announce that The Big Give will match all donations made through our online campaign page between March 19th and March 26th,” says Becca, Project Manager at Inside Out Cymru. “All contributions of all sizes will make a significant impact in sustaining our Creative Wellbeing Hub”.

Inside Out Cymru’s participants and partners have also donated 6 free gifts, available to those who donate £5 or over! The Riverfront have generously offered two lots of 4 cinema tickets, a local artist has donated a framed oil painting and artist Lisa Floyd offers a jewellery-making workshop!

The participants highlight the profound impact of the Creative Wellbeing Hub in their own words:

I love writing, I have always written and I always will. The Creative Writing class is a lovely class, it’s really good to get to know such nice people. The feedback from everyone is always excellent. It is very encouraging and I always feel valued.”– Pam, Creative Writing Participant

The craft sessions are about more than just being creative together. They offer a safe space for participants to relax and have time away from what are often, very real challenges. Trust forms quickly over shared interests and with support, so much growth is observed.”– Lisa, Craft Class Facilitator

Craft group motivates me to do other things outside of class. I look forward to going. I feel supported when I attend. It’s so much more than just the craft. It’s support, it’s friendliness, it’s acceptance, it’s good company. There is no pressure which is good for my wellbeing.– Karen, Craft Class Participant

What will happen with your donation?

If the target of £10,000 is reached, the Creative Wellbeing Hub will provide 30 weekly craft sessions, 30 weekly creative writing sessions, 10 weeks of supported making, 20 hours of wellbeing professional AND a public exhibition or performance of works. Every donation contributes to the running costs of the 70 sessions including lead artist fees, room hire, materials and exhibition costs.
