The casting directors of Wheel of Fortune have been looking for contestants to star in a new TV show. It’s been announced that they were looking to have people from the Gwent and wider South Wales area. Although applications were set to close at the end of October, it could still possible to apply to be on the show. The application form remains open for new submissions, with showrunners saying that they reserve the right to extend the deadline without notice until they have fulfilled their requirements. So, while they may not be officially rushing to have new contestants in at the moment, you might consider applying if you fancy a chance in the future.

    The Comeback of Game Shows

With shows like The Traitors being so successful, it’s no surprise to see that other game shows are making a comeback, and people are all here for it. There are also several spinoffs and new formats emerging all the time. There’s now an online Deal or No Deal game, which gives everyone the chance to be put in the hot seat. You also have Adventure Beyond Wonderland, a popular online casino game based on the Wheel of Fortune game. On the wheel, there are various segments, all of which contain a number or a symbol. When the dealer spins the wheel, a prize is triggered, replicating the classic theme of the Wheel of Fortune game show.

As time goes on, it seems that game shows as a whole are making a huge comeback, whether it is in the form of a new TV show, game, or app. With so much hype around game shows right now, it’s no surprise that ITV is currently working on one with a whole new format.

What We Know About The New Game Show

Although we don’t know what format the new game show is going to take, we do know that applicants need to be over the age of 18. You also need to be a legal resident in the UK, Isle of Man, or Channel Islands. With that said, we do know that they were seeking people from the Gwent area specifically. Other requirements that you need to follow include not being employed by ITV, or having a connection to them in any way. We also have details that indicate that the show is going to involve pairs of contestants who are then going to be teamed up with a single celebrity. If you want to apply then the pair can consist of any relation including friends, colleagues, or a family member.

Showrunners have been auditioning people from all over the UK. Some of the specific areas we know that they have looked at include Bradford. It’s also been announced that comedians may have a role to play in the show, with cash prizes set to be given out to lucky winners.

The show is set to be presented again by Graham Norton, though there were rumours the show was nearly presented by Alison Hammond. Whether the show is going to be themed after The Cube, or whether it’s going to take more of a quiz format is yet to be seen. With that said, it’s certainly an exciting period for British television.
