    Cyclist suffers serious head injuries in city centre collision

    South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision which happened in Cardiff city centre last night (Thursday 22nd August).

    The incident happened in Wood Street shortly before 11.30pm when a man riding a bicycle was in collision with a dark coloured car.

    The cyclist suffered serious head injuries and is currently in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales.

    A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in police custody.

    Officers investigating the collision are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting occurrence number 1900310521.
