Cardiff’s much-loved Winter Wonderland will return this festive season, taking place from Thursday 13 November 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026.
The event will once again spread across two of the city’s most iconic locations, Cardiff Castle and City Hall Lawn, bringing festive fun for the whole family.
Visitors can look forward to skating beneath the backdrop of the Norman Keep, with the popular undercover Ice Rink and Ice Walk making their return. For beginners or those seeking a calmer pace, the Novice Rink provides a relaxed environment, while accessible sessions will be available every Thursday.
Beyond the rink, the Castle grounds will be filled with festive attractions, including a new family-friendly Christmas tree ride and Arctic-themed lanterns lighting up the winter evenings. Guests can warm up with seasonal food and drink, from hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows to mulled wine at the traditional Tafarn.
At City Hall Lawn, the funfair and Big Wheel promise unbeatable views over Cardiff. Regular free entertainment will take place under cover, while the Alpine-themed Sur la Piste bar returns for those looking to unwind with friends and family after a day on the ice or Christmas shopping.
Entry to Winter Wonderland is free, with charges for attractions, rides, and refreshments. Tickets for ice skating and the Big Wheel go on sale this Saturday, 13 September, at 10am. Funfair tokens can be purchased on site.
Cardiff Winter Wonderland is considered the centrepiece of the city’s Christmas celebrations, with thousands of visitors expected across the festive season.
