Motorists have faced disruption on the A465 this afternoon following reports of congestion and a road closure westbound between Gilwern and Clydach.
According to Traffic Wales, the A465 is currently closed westbound at this time between Gilwern and Clydach due to a vehicle fire.
Earlier reports suggested heavy congestion in the area, although some drivers have since said that traffic is beginning to move again in certain sections as the situation is brought under control.
The closure is likely to cause knock on delays for anyone travelling along the Heads of the Valleys route, particularly during busy periods. Emergency services are understood to have attended the scene.
It is not yet clear how long the closure will remain in place.
