A drive has been filmed driving onto Barry Island’s beach yesterday morning (Monday 14 June) and subsequently getting stuck in the soft sand.

Just after 7.30am on Monday morning, bystanders were astonished to witness an Audi A3 driver driving across the promenade and down the slip road onto the beach.

South Wales Police are now investigating the incident after the male driver left the area.

Police have said the driver is described as possibly being under the influence of alcohol and was wearing a yellow basketball style vest.

The car was removed from the beach and the owner, believed to be from the Nelson area, has been contacted.

Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact police quoting occurrence 2100207719.
