Motorists across South Wales are facing delays this Friday afternoon as congestion builds on several key routes during the rush hour period.

Traffic Wales has reported slow moving traffic on parts of the motorway and major trunk roads as commuters head home for the weekend.

On the M4 westbound between junction 24 at Coldra and junction 26 at Malpas, congestion has been reported with delays possible for drivers travelling through the Newport area.

Further west, traffic is also building on the A465 westbound between Neath and Llandarcy, where motorists may experience slower journeys as vehicles queue along the busy stretch.

In Cardiff, congestion has been reported on the A4232 northbound between the A48 interchange and the M4 at junction 33, Capel Llanilltern, a route commonly used by commuters leaving the city.

Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys and expect slower moving traffic on these routes as the Friday afternoon rush hour continues.
