Motorists across South Wales are facing a slow start to the day with congestion building on several key routes during the morning rush hour.

According to Traffic Wales, delays are currently being reported on the A4232 northbound between Croes Cwrlwys and Culverhouse Cross towards Capel Llanilltern. Traffic is also heavy on the eastbound off slip at Junction 33 of the M4 at Capel Llanilltern.

Elsewhere, drivers heading eastbound on the M4 are experiencing congestion between Junction 27 at High Cross and Junction 24 at Coldra.

There are also delays on the A470 southbound between Nantgarw and Coryton, a stretch that often sees heavy volumes of commuter traffic heading towards Cardiff.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternative routes where possible.

Traffic conditions can change quickly during peak periods, so drivers are urged to check for updates before setting off.
