Cwm Taf Morgannwg’s Test, Trace and Protect Service is contacting people who visited the Eden Bar and Lounge in Bridgend on Saturday July 10 following positive coronavirus tests for several people who were at the premises that day.

If you have been identified as a contact, the Test Trace and Protect team will be in touch shortly to provide you with further advice and guidance.

Any customers who visited Eden on Market Street, Bridgend on that date and who is either already showing or developing symptoms such as a high temperature, persistent cough or change in their sense of taste or smell should avoid visiting a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Instead, self-isolate immediately along with any other members of the household, and book a test online.

If you require medical advice, telephone your GP and let them know that that you have recently visited a premises at the same time as someone who has since tested positive for Covid-19.

If you were not at the premises on this day but feel generally unwell, you can also request a test to check that you do not have coronavirus.

Councillor Dhanisha Patel, Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and Future Generations, said: “We urge anyone who was at Eden Bar and Lounge on Saturday July 10, and has started showing symptoms to self-isolate and get tested to ensure that we stop the spread of Covid-19.

“We are seeing large increases in cases across the county borough and particularly among young people under the age of 25. Many of these young people are yet to receive their first vaccine dose and we urge them to take every precaution to avoid spreading the virus.

“Procedures are in place to support anyone who tests positive and you can find out more by visiting the coronavirus advice page at the Welsh Government website.”

Mobile testing remains available, with a drive-through facility operating at Oakwood Drive in Maesteg between 9am-5pm and a walk-through centre at the Bowls Hall in Angel Street, Bridgend between 2pm-8pm. To use either of the other two sites, you must book an appointment by visiting the Welsh Government website or by calling 119. If you have hearing or speech difficulties, you can call 18001119 to arrange an appointment.
