Cardiff Bus is alerting customers to city centre service diversions and bus stop changes which will come into place during Sunday’s annual charitable run.

The event, which is due to start at Cardiff Civic Centre from 10am, will see runners flood the capital, with roads including Cathedral Road, Castle Street, Wood Street and Westgate Street, all set to close at various times from 8.45am to 12.30pm.

The Baycar 6 will depart from Customhouse Street (south side) from 8.45am to 11.45am and then Wyndham Arcade from 11:45am to 12:30pm; the 8 and 9 to Cardiff Bay/Sports Village will leave from Customhouse Street (south side) or Taffs Mead Embankment between 8.45am and 12.30pm while the 8 & 9 to Heath Hospital will start from Taffs Mead Embankment (and run via Bute Terrace) from 9:15am to 11:45am.

Services 11 & 28B will start from Hayes Bridge Road from 8:45 to 12:30pm, while services 21, 23, 24, 27 and 35 will depart from Greyfriars Road from 8.45am to 12.30pm. The 30 to Newport will start from Customhouse Street as normal but will exit the city centre along Station Terrace, not via Castle Street or Greyfriars Road from 8:45am to 12:30pm.

For full timetable changes and route information visit the Cardiff Bus website at https://www.cardiffbus.com/cardiff10k

Updates and ongoing information throughout the event can also be found at Cardiff Bus’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

Gareth Stevens, Operations and Commercial Director at Cardiff Bus said they were aiming to keep disruption to a minimum during the event.

He said: “To ensure runners and spectators can travel to, and enjoy the event safely, we have put a number of route alterations in place, which will come into effect from 8.45am on Sunday. We would urge anyone travelling by bus on the day to check our timetables for the most up to date information, as designated bus stops will change throughout the event.

“All the information can be found via our website www.cardiffbus.com and our social media channels will also be providing full updates.”
