A Welsh ventilation company is aiming for expansion as business continues to increase.

DW-Air based at Ystalafera has a growing list of clients around the UK, providing clean air for all types of buildings from homes to offices, swimming pools and factories.

The firm provides design, installation and maintenance, working directly with customers, or on a sub-contract basis.

DW-Air was set up by Martin Leonard and now employs four staff, and has plans to take on more in 2020 to cope with demand.

The firm received a £500 grant from the Kickstart programme, run jointly by Tata Steel subsidiary UKSE and Neath and Port Talbot County Borough Council. The funds helped DW-Air purchase essential testing equipment.

“The business is expanding rapidly and we are winning new work both in Wales and around the UK,” said Martin.

Expansion is on the horizon. “We presently employ four staff and are planning to take on more engineers in the foreseeable future,” he added.

“There is a growing awareness that the quality and purity of air is important for well-being and health, both in homes and in the workplace,” he added.

Glyn Thomas, Manager in Wales for UKSE commented: “We are very pleased to have been able to help DW-Air with its plans for growth and wish the company every success.  It is encouraging that the business is looking to expand and offer its services more widely across the UK.”

A spokesperson for Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council said: “In partnership with UKSE’s Grant Scheme, the Council’s Economic Development Team provides much needed financial support to help new and existing businesses in Neath Port Talbot prosper and grow. DW Air is a great example of the benefits that this grant can offer. We wish Martin every success in the future development of his company.”
