Family lift business expands services across north Wales

Flintshire-based lift production, maintenance and repair firm, ACE Lifts, increased its turnover by 20% in the last year, serving businesses nation-wide.

Now, it’s on the lookout for local engineers to join the 45-strong team, allowing it to further enhance its services in north Wales in particular.

Iceland, Airbus and Mostyn Estates are just some of the Welsh businesses ACE Lifts has served since 1988 — established by Managing Director, Charles Salter. 23 years later in 2011, his daughter, Laurel, returned to the family business and has headed up the commercial side of the business ever since.

ACE Lifts has also demonstrated its commitment to supporting home-grown talent via its partnership with Coleg Cambria, taking on 6 apprentices this year across both the engineering and business side of the company — with a business apprentice vacancy live at the moment.

Laurel said: “As a family business, our roots have always been here in the Flintshire community. While we’re proud of our national growth, we know that our strength comes from staying true to who we are — working with local businesses and creating opportunities for local people.

“Recruiting talent locally and partnering with companies close to home isn’t just good business, it’s a way of honouring our values. Returning to those roots ensures that as we grow, we never lose sight of what makes us unique.”
