The woman who died following an incident at an address in Carlton Street earlier this week (April 23) has been named as 22-year-old Sammy-Lee Lodwig.

    Sammy-Lee Lodwig

Her family has been informed of her death and are being supported by specially trained officers – her sister Miakala has issued the following tribute on behalf of the family:

“I loved my sister more that life itself. She has been taken from me and my family too early.

“She was my little pocket rocket who loved animals, especially her dog Rocky.  She will always remain in my heart.

“Words cannot express how I feel at this time, I just want my baby girl back, my shooting star.”

The family have requested privacy and to be allowed to grieve in private at this difficult time.

Senior Investigating Officer DCI Darren George, South Wales Police Major Crime said: “This remains very much an active investigation into the murder of Sammy-Lee, I would like to again appeal to the local community who may have information in relation to the incident to please come forward and contact the incident room or to contact Crimestoppers in confidence.

“A local 49-year-old man remains in police custody having been arrested on suspicion of Sammy-Lee’s murder.

“I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who would have been in the Carlton Terrace or Mansel Street areas of Swansea between 8pm on Monday evening and 4am on Tuesday morning.”

We ask anyone with information about the incident to contact us via 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting occurrence 1900144514
