The family of Joanne Penney, a 40-year-old woman who tragically lost her life after being shot in Talbot Green, have shared a heartfelt tribute in her memory.

Emergency services were called to Llys Illtyd at 6:10pm on Sunday, March 9, 2025, following reports of a shooting. Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, Joanne was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, her loved ones described her as a cherished daughter, mother, sister, and niece, whose kindness and strength will never be forgotten.

The police investigation is ongoing, and five individuals arrested on suspicion of murder remain in custody.

    Family statement:

“We are devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved Joanne. She was a daughter, mother, sister, and niece – loved deeply by all who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and love for her family will never be forgotten.

“During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we grieve and begin to process this unimaginable loss. We appreciate the support and condolences from the community and kindly request that our family be given the space to mourn in peace.

“We would be grateful if anyone with information could share this with the police investigation team.

“Thank you for respecting our wishes.”
