FinTech Wales, the independent membership association and champion of the fintech and financial services industry in Wales, has today welcomed Mastercard, the global leader in payments and technology, as its newest Partner.

With a long-standing commitment to fostering innovation, Mastercard plays a vital role in accelerating fintech growth through partnerships, investment, and infrastructure. By supporting early-stage and scaling fintechs with access to its global network, advanced technology, and deep industry expertise, Mastercard is helping shape the future of payments ensuring it’s inclusive, secure, and sustainable.

Its extensive experience in financial services will provide invaluable insights and collaboration opportunities among FinTech Wales’ diverse membership base.

As part of its commitment to supporting innovation and strengthening the UK’s fintech ecosystem, Mastercard’s partnership with FinTech Wales reflects its intent to work with all key stakeholders in the sector — from policymakers and regulators to startups and scaleups.

Sarah Jones, CMO of FinTech Wales, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Mastercard as a partner in our mission to champion the thriving Welsh fintech ecosystem. Their global expertise, collaborative mindset, and commitment to digital innovation make them a perfect fit for our community. This partnership represents a significant opportunity to accelerate growth, foster innovation, and create new opportunities for fintechs across Wales.”

Mastercard joins an impressive list of FinTech Wales Partners, including Admiral, Barclays, Aviva, Starling Bank, Hodge Bank, Principality and Monmouthshire Building Societies, Confused.com, Go.Compare, The Royal Mint, Veeqo and Future Finance. As a Partner, Mastercard demonstrates its commitment to shaping the future of fintech in Wales, joining FinTech Wales’ 180-strong membership community who are all united by a shared ambition to collaborate and drive meaningful change.

FinTech Wales launched in April 2019 and uses the power of the collective voice to be heard by politicians, governments, and influencers in the financial services space.

Its mission is to make Wales a world leader in the global fintech community by bringing together entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes, as well as technology suppliers, innovators, universities, colleges, and public sector bodies.
