First Cymru announces Christmas and New Year services

Bus operator First Cymru will be adjusting its timetables over the Christmas and New Year period to ensure that the services operating provide customers with the appropriate level of reliable, punctual journeys.

There will be no services on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and some late evening journeys will not operate on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. All services will begin to terminate at around 6pm.

Jane Reakes-Davies, Managing Director of First Cymru, said: “Each year we adjust our services during the festive season to reflect the change in customer demand. This year we also want to ensure certainty in the timetables as there have been some unforeseen cancellations recently due to driver shortages.

“Most services are running across the period with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Our staff have worked incredibly hard to keep buses running over the course of what has been another extremely challenging year.

“Therefore, like many retailers, to thank them we have taken the decision to not operate on Boxing Day this year so that they can enjoy a couple of days off over the holiday period. Our priority is, as always, keeping customers moving safely and reliably so that they can reach their destinations.”
