Cardiff’s newest entertainment attraction is beginning to take shape, with construction well underway on the highly anticipated Hollywood Bowl XL venue at St David’s Cardiff.
New images released by the company offer a first glimpse of the venue’s e-karting track as work continues behind the scenes ahead of its opening later this summer.

The new city centre venue will mark a first for Hollywood Bowl as it expands beyond traditional bowling centres to create a larger multi-entertainment destination, bringing together bowling, gaming, dining and high-speed activities under one roof.
Located across two floors at St David’s Cardiff, the venue will become Hollywood Bowl’s second site in the Welsh capital, joining its existing centre at the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay.

One of the biggest attractions will be the brand’s first-ever e-karting experience, with the newly released construction images showing the track beginning to take shape. The electric karting circuit is expected to be a major draw for visitors looking for something beyond traditional bowling and arcade games.

Alongside the e-karting track, the venue will feature 20 ten-pin bowling lanes, interactive darts, a live sports bar and a large amusement arcade packed with both classic and modern games.
Guests can also expect Hollywood Bowl’s signature diner, serving a range of food and drinks including burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes and cocktails.
The development is expected to create more than 50 jobs across leisure, hospitality and customer service, with recruitment set to support the company’s expansion into Cardiff city centre.
While an official opening date has yet to be announced, the venue is expected to welcome its first visitors during summer 2026, adding a major new leisure attraction to Cardiff city centre.
The latest construction update suggests the countdown is well and truly on.
