The Liverpool based hospitality operators is opening its latest Golf Fang site on Cardiff’s Mary Ann Street, near to John Lewis and Cineworld.

The company was founded by Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger, who opened their first site in Liverpool in 2016 inside the 25,000 square-foot Cains Brewery. The Cardiff site will be their sixth location in almost six years and will employ more than 60 people locally.

Each Golf Fang venue offers an 18-hole crazy golf experience, combined with themed cocktails and DJs in a ‘sprayground’ environment where the venue features work from selected and local graffiti artists. The venue features a fully working slide that you can use to whizz down to the next section of the course. When you arrive at the bottom, there is chance to pick up some refreshments before continuing on.

The brand’s goal is to create a unique set of courses that provide guests with an experience that both inspires and positions graffiti as an art form. Visitors to the venue will soon discover that this is more than ‘mini golf’ and instead will be treated to some far-out experiences, including a 90s themed rave room – one of many unique displays on offer.

The company now owns and operates across five cities in the UK, including Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Glasgow. Golf Fang Cardiff will be their sixth location following a successful launch in Sheffield. The Big Fang Collective now has plans to expand further across the UK, with seven already planned to launch before 2025.

According to the founders, there have been 8 marriage proposals at this spot across their other venues – will Cardiff help add to these numbers? Only time will tell.

The Big Fang Collective’s focus on delivering next-level entertainment spaces, coupled with the brand’s market-disrupting nature, helped attract investment from Imbiba earlier this year. Renowned for investing in high-growth, category leading leisure and entertainment brands, Imbiba invested £5m in aid to grow the brand, both in the UK and internationally.
Speaking ahead of the opening, Kip Piper, co-founder of The Big Fang Collective, said, “We are really excited to grow the Golf Fang family and to be bringing the experience to Wales. Cardiff is a great location for the newest Golf Fang and we love the energy and atmosphere the city has to offer. The newest venue will feature some of our most popular experiential elements and we can’t wait to see how the guests interact with the graffiti-led space.”
The venue will be open seven days per week from midday till late, with bookings and walk-ins both accepted.
Golf Fang Cardiff will open its doors on Friday, 24 March 2023.
