Each year, the Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council chooses a charity to support throughout their time in office.

Former Mayor, Councillor Elizabeth Aldworth, chose to raise funds for #TurnABUHBPink during her year as Mayor in 2022-23. The chosen charity is raising money to support the new Aneurin Bevan University Health Board NHS Breast Unit at Ystrad Fawr Hospital.

The council has since to announced that during the Mayor’s year in office, a total of £5041.83 was raised to enhance the facilities at the Unit.

Councillor Aldworth presented the cheque to the Breast Unit at Ystrad Fawr Hospital on Friday the 23rd of February, and would like to thank everyone who has generously donated towards this important charity.
