Gurinder Randeva, founder of Cardiff-based online beauty comparison website has been awarded the accolade of Entrepreneur of the Year at the Welsh SME Business Awards. She has been recognised for her contribution to the Welsh business community.

While only in its infancy, Glamdeva.com has already been praised for its unique ability to connect consumers with local hair and beauty professionals with the click of a button.

The award was presented at a lavish ceremony hosted at Cardiff’s Exchange Hotel. The event brought together some of Wales’ greatest innovators, being a true celebration of Welsh business and talent.

After receiving many nominations, the Glamdeva team was thrilled with the judges’ decision, believing this award to be a true testament to the Founder’s efforts.

After receiving the award, Mrs Randeva said:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who nominated me as well as the judges. Developing Glamdeva really is a labour of love and I thoroughly look forward to sharing more platform updates very soon”.

Explaining the concept and plans for Glamdeva.com, she continued:

“We have been working on the tech for some time now and have enjoyed a great response from customers and providers all over the UK. We have worked closely with industry professionals to tailor Glamdeva as a robust solution for our customers and our professionals.”

“The idea of an online marketplace came from my experience in searching for hair and make up artists for events and occasions which led me to explore the industry for an online booking platform. During my research, I found very little which compares prices instantly or gives various options. There is huge interest and enquiries are flowing in on a daily basis.”

The Glamdeva team has been involved in various campaigns including BAFTA Cymru in Wales and Miss England at The Mayfair Hotel in London.

As the UK’s first comparison site of its kind, Glamdeva.com has grown its user numbers substantially month-on-month, now sitting at the forefront of the hair and beauty industry along with future plans to expand into Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & India.
