Thai restaurant chain Giggling Squid is set to make a splash in Cardiff Bay on March 25th 2024.

Nestled along the waterfront with breathtaking harbour views, Giggling Squid promises an unforgettable dining experience that combines mouthwatering cuisine with a stylish and inviting atmosphere.

The Cardiff Bay restaurant will be serving Giggling Squid’s new menu for 2024, which includes a plant-based starter, customisable noodles and stir-fry meals, and indulgent desserts. The vegan starter, Salt & Pepper Chilli Mushrooms (£6.50) is a meat-free alternative to their bestselling Salt & Pepper Squid (£8.50). Also on the menu is the new succulent Caramelised Pork Belly (£8.25), bite-sized Crispy Squid Bits (£8.25), and the light and fresh North Eastern Papaya Salad (£8.95).

The new restaurant will also offer showstopping special curries including the Prawn and Soft Shell Crab (£19.95), Slow Cooked Jungle Curry (£16.95), and Spicy Double Curry Seabass (£17.50), which are all served in rich sauces and with perfect presentation and are not to be missed.

With a seating capacity of 150 internally and 40 on the terrace, guests can savour Giggling Squid’s culinary delights from the spacious and decorative interior or while overlooking the picturesque harbour on the terrace. The restaurant not only offers a feast for the tastebuds but also for the eyes as it boasts classic banquette seating, floral interiors, and bifold doors that open onto the waterfront view.

Guests are also invited to unwind and sip on signature cocktails or choose from a selection of refreshing drinks in the separate bar area.

To celebrate the grand opening, Giggling Squid is delighted to offer an exclusive 50% off food for pre-bookings during the first launch week. To be among the first to enjoy this delectable offer, eager food enthusiasts are encouraged to sign up* to receive notifications as soon as bookings go live.

The launch of the Giggling Squid in Cardiff Bay will greatly benefit the local community, creating around 70 job opportunities. This investment in the local workforce reflects Giggling Squid’s commitment to fostering a positive impact on the neighbourhoods it serves.

Giggling Squid Co-founder, Andy Laurillard, commented on opening of the Cardiff Bay restaurant: “Following the success we’ve had in Cardiff St David’s, we can’t wait to expand our presence in Wales with the launch of our new restaurant in Cardiff Bay! Our unique blend of authentic Thai flavours, coupled with the stunning waterfront location is sure to make Giggling Squid the go-to destination for food enthusiasts and those looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience.”

Located at Upper 9-10, Mermaid Quay, Cardiff, CF10 5BZ, Giggling Squid will open to guests from Monday 25th March.  Opening hours: Monday-Sunday 12pm – 10.30pm.
