Global insurer makes significant investment to expand presence in Bridgend

Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI), a member of the Tokio Marine HCC group of companies based in Houston, Texas, has reaffirmed its commitment to Bridgend by announcing that it will double the office space it currently occupies in the town. The leading insurer has completely refurbished its existing property at the town’s Bocam Park industrial estate and has taken on two new units, doubling the space it currently occupies.

The expansion in footprint has been undertaken in part to anticipate expected growth in the insurer’s Bridgend location but also to ensure that the employees currently working at the site have the best working environment possible.

The new office space will have exciting new features including ‘walk and work’ desks, allowing employees to walk on a treadmill while working, wellbeing rooms for those who require a space to practice mindfulness, tuck shops and a lunchroom where dining surfaces double as ping pong tables.

Commenting on the move, Ian Rowles, Managing Director of TMHCCI’s Bridgend, office said: “We have been part of the Bridgend community for 18 years and in that time, we have grown from three employees to 150 and counting. Bridgend is an excellent location to source the skills and talent we need as a specialist insurer.”

“While some companies are questioning the future of office work, we are focused on providing the best office experience for those who want it, when they want it, and that is why we have invested so much in the new space and the refurbishment of all the units we now occupy.”

“We look forward to building on the excellent relationships we have in Bridgend as we continue to invest and recruit for our future experts in the town and the surrounding region.”
