Residents are being encouraged to attend an engagement session to share their views on a proposed Active Travel route in the Ewenny Road area of Bridgend town.

The plans, which will be delivered in phases, include a shared-use path for both pedestrians and cyclists. The route would begin at the railway bridge on Heronston Lane, continue to the Ewenny Road roundabout, and extend down towards the entrance of Brynteg School.

The drop-in session will provide an opportunity for residents to view drawings and plans, ask questions, and offer feedback. Council officers and local councillors will be available to discuss the proposals.

The details of the event are as follows:

    • Date: Thursday 25 September 2025
    • Time: 4:30pm – 7pm (drop in at any time)
    • Venue: Lower School Library, Brynteg Comprehensive School, Ewenny Road, Bridgend, CF31 3LE (please park in the lower school via the Heol Gam entrance)

Active Travel refers to walking or cycling for everyday short-distance journeys, such as trips to school, work, shops, services, and transport hubs. It also covers the use of electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters, but not journeys made purely for recreation or social reasons.

The council is keen to hear from residents to help shape the plans and ensure the proposed route meets the needs of the community.
