As vaccinations for 12-15 year olds continue in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board region, a new advice line has been set up to provide expert support and information.

The exclusive advice line aims to enable 12-15 year olds and their parents or guardians to access all of the details they require ahead of deciding whether to take up the offer of a Covid-19 vaccine.

To use the service, simply fill in the online form on the health board’s website and a member of their team will get back to you.

Nearly 30 per cent of 12-15 years olds within the Cwm Taf region have already received their first Covid-19 vaccine. The process is ongoing and appointment letters are still being issued as the health board has not finished inviting this age group into community vaccination centres.

Wales is leading the way on ensuring that people receive their vaccinations and are protected against Covid-19, and it is essential for as many residents as possible take part.

Making sure that you are full vaccinated is absolutely essential if you want to protect yourself, your family, your friends, work colleagues and the wider community. If anyone has any doubts about 12 to 15 year olds taking part, I urge them to use the free advice line and speak to one of the experts, because the only way we are going to defeat coronavirus and end the pandemic is by working together for the benefit of the entire community.

    Council Leader Huw David

More than 33,000 Covid-19 boosters have now been delivered to people within the top priority groups in the health board area. The boosters are being provided strictly by appointment only, and every effort is being made to offer them as quickly and safely as possible.

Anyone aged 16 and over who has yet to receive their first dose of the vaccine can do so with no prior booking by visiting a Covid-19 Vaccination Centre, while over 18s can walk in for their second dose as long as it has been eight weeks since their first dose.

This includes at Ravens Court in Bridgend town centre (CF31 4AP) where the walk-in appointments are available between 11am and 4.30pm. Details of other vaccination centres in the region are available on the health board’s website, but please note that the boosters are not currently being offered on a walk-in basis – they are by appointment only.

In Bridgend County Borough, 104,483 people are now full vaccinated, and a total of 216,384 first and second doses have been administered.
