    Help Marie Curie Takeover Trostre This Summer Holiday

    Terminal illness charity, Marie Curie, are holding a series of collections throughout the summer holidays to raise funds for its nurses across Carmarthenshire, in what the charity is calling a ‘Trostre Takeover’.

    Marie Curie says that the appeal is urgently needed as one in four people currently don’t receive the care and support they need at the end of their life*, and with the population getting older, demand on the charity’s services is set to increase.

    The money raised will help Marie Curie Nurses be there for more people living with a terminal illness, providing them with vital one-to-one nursing care and support in their own homes.

    Collections, with collection tins, will be held every Friday throughout the school summer holidays beginning on the 27th July and finishing on the 31st August. These collections will take place at the Superdrug Store on the Trostre retail site.

    Chris Roberts, West Wales’ Community Fundraiser, said:

    “We are very grateful to Superdrug for hosting these summer fundraisers. Superdrug have been a long-time partner of Marie Curie having supported the charity since 2013. We are now appealing for more volunteers to help with our collections so that Marie Curie can maximise the excellent opportunity Superdrug has given us.”

    Roberts added:

    “Originally the Trostre Takeover initiative was to be jointly held with Poundworld; another of Marie Curie’s valued partners. Sadly since the company entered into administration this will no longer be possible. I would personally like the thank the staff of the Trostre Poundworld Store for all their support over the last few years.”
