Hexa Finance has created a specialist Growth Advisor team briefed with the task of helping Welsh businesses grow.

Based in Newport, Hexa Finance provide business finance solutions to Welsh SMEs. The business has already been recognised at the Business Growth Wales Awards 2023, winning the Economic Contribution Award. The establishment of its Growth Advisor team demonstrates Hexa’s commitment to increase its level of support to Welsh businesses.

The Growth Advisor team will be headed up by General Manager Jason Davies, with Sharon Bromage promoted to Senior Growth Advisor. Andre Le Roux also joins the team, alongside new recruit Robert Smith.

The team’s role will be to help facilitate business finance solutions for clients such as asset finance, business loans, property finance and invoice finance.

    A changing landscape

Hexa’s mission is to support a changing Welsh economy and complement institutions like the Development Bank of Wales with a broader and flexible range of finance options that they can tailor to an increasingly diverse Welsh business landscape.

Alongside mainstays of the Welsh economy such as agriculture and tourism, Wales has seen the growth of high-tech and knowledge-based sectors in recent years. Renewables, life sciences and the creative industries are among many growth sectors.

According to Welsh Government statistics, across all sectors the majority of active Welsh businesses are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The majority of these are classed as micro-businesses (up to 9 employees), which can rarely count on in-house finance expertise.

    Hexa’s Co-Founder, Ben Davies, says

“The Welsh business landscape has changed dramatically in my lifetime. It’s such a diverse and dynamic space, and we’re absolutely determined to do whatever we can to help them grow.

From the ground up, we’re built to help Welsh SMEs and entrepreneurs thrive and continue to make the country proud. We ourselves are a Welsh SME, and nothing gives us greater pride than helping like-minded businesses realise their ambitions. We intend to provide even greater levels of support with our Growth Advisor team.”
