Marks & Spencer today, 22nd January 2019, opened the doors to its new Foodhall in Mumbles.

Hundreds of eager locals popped down for the opening at 10am. The ribbon was cut by Hannah Jenkins, Store Manager. To help celebrate the opening, colleagues and customers were joined by M&S’s very own Percy Pig to help with the Golden Ticket giveaway. The first 200 customers through the doors received M&S vouchers, up to the value of £200, to enjoy in store.

Hannah Jenkins, Store Manager said, “The team has been working so hard to get ready for the opening and it’s been brilliant to see the community turn out to support us today. Our shelves are bursting with everything from lunches to go and everyday essentials, through to dinners perfect for sharing with family and friends. We’re excited to be part of the Mumbles community and we can’t wait to get to know our local customers.”

Tony Morris, 58, the first customer to enter the new Food store, said, “It’s amazing to have a local M&S in the village, as we normally had to go to the other side of Swansea! It will be so convenient to pop in and get what we need. We’ve always been big fans of M&S, for us it’s set apart by the quality of the products.”

John Hurfurd, 18, has joined M&S as his first job and will be a Customer Assistant at the new store. He said, “I’m so excited to be joining such a highly anticipated new store in the area! The Mumbles community has been incredibly welcoming, with so many people queuing outside this morning. It was a great team effort to get the store ready for this day and I can’t wait to continue working with my new colleagues.”

The store also offers the full range of M&S Clothing & Home products via its Collect in Store service.

The store is be located at Newton Road, Mumbles, SA3 4BD and is open Monday – Saturday, 8am – 8pm, and on Sunday, 11am – 5pm.
