IoD Wales has officially launched the search for its next National Chair, as Richard Selby MBE DL prepares to step down after five years of service.
Richard has completed two successful terms, steering IoD Wales through a period of growth and change, and ensuring the organisation is a strong voice for Welsh business leaders across the UK and beyond.
The new Chair will be expected to build on this foundation, working with members, regional committees and partners to help shape the next chapter for IoD Wales, with a particular focus on good governance, membership growth, and representing the business community at the highest levels.
Richard Selby MBE DL, current Chair of IoD Wales, said:
“It has been a privilege to serve as Chair for the past five years, during which IoD Wales has strengthened its influence and profile. The organisation is built on its people, and I am confident the next Chair will bring a fresh perspective and energy to continue supporting our members and the wider business community in Wales.
“I would encourage senior leaders with a pan-Wales outlook and a passion for governance to put themselves forward.”
Jo Price, Nations Manager for Wales, added:
“Finding the right Chair is crucial as we look ahead to an important period for Wales, particularly with the Senedd election next year. This role is about more than representing IoD members, it is about supporting the Welsh business community through its next stage of growth and making sure their voice is heard at every level.
“We’re looking for someone with the vision and commitment to champion Welsh business and drive lasting impact.”
The position is voluntary and offers the chance to influence, connect, and represent IoD Wales nationally and internationally.
Applications can be submitted before 30 November 2025 by sending a CV together with a covering letter to [email protected]. For an informal conversation about the position, candidates should contact [email protected]
