Comedy star Joel Dommett is familiar with challenges after his memorable runners-up spot in the 2016 ‘I’m a Celebrity….Get Me Out of Here’. His most recent challenge saw him go head-to-head with fellow former campmates Dean Gaffney and Rosemary Shrager, not in the jungle but on a Catchphrase celebrity special last weekend.

Joel’s unique humour and quick wit sparkled again as he won £11,200 for charity Brain Tumour Support, a charity that runs a support group in Cardiff.

“I can’t believe how much money I won!” said Joel. “Turns out – I’m good at Catchphrase! I was so happy to win it for such a wonderful charity that is close to my, and my family’s, heart. The charity’s support groups and specialist counselling are a lifeline to so many patients and families and I know these funds will make a big difference to these peoples’ lives. I’m really proud to be able to support the charity.”

It is estimated that there are 100,000 people in the UK living with a brain tumour, and on average Brain Tumour Support receives over 20 new referrals a week for their services.

Tina Mitchell Skinner, founder and CEO of Brain Tumour Support expressed how much Joel’s support meant:  “We were over the moon when we heard that Joel had chosen Brain Tumour Support. He has such a big heart and always wants to make a difference.  Winning this amount of money for us will allow us to do so much.

“The impact of brain tumours desperately needs more awareness and more money allocated to support the growing number of people living and dying with a brain tumour every day. If you need support, or can help us in any way to achieve this, please contact us on [email protected].”
