West End and Broadway leading man John Barrowman MBE confirms appearance as a special guest star across select dates on the UK tour of Dreamcoat Stars, a concert featuring artists that have played the role of Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.

Barrowman, whose Television credits include Doctor Who, Torchwood, Desperate Housewives and Arrow, will appear in Folkestone, Swansea and Stoke-on-trent, as part of the Dreamcoat Stars 2023 autumn tour line-up. Natively from Glasgow Scotland, Barrowman has, through his work on stage and television in both the UK and the US, become one of the most recognised talents, and certainly one of the most extraordinary voices of musical theatre.

Barrowman’s career on stage began in 1989 when he played the role of Billy Crocker in Anything Goes opposite Elaine Paige at Prince Edward Theatre London, continuing to play many coveted title roles in the West End and on Broadway for the next decade. Barrowman’s career spans far and wide, from stage to screen his talents are undeniable and in 2014 Barrowman was awarded an MBE for his services to Entertainment and Charity. In 2007 Barrowman was a judge on the BBC One TV series Any Dream Will Do where he met Dreamcoat Stars’ Keith Jack.

The musical extravaganza, which opened to sold out audiences at Chelmsford Theatre 2nd March 2023, is returning for an Autumn tour following the premier outing in the Spring. The show promises powerful star vocals from the nation’s most loved shows. Including: Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, SIX, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, Les Misérables, Moulin Rouge and many more.

“Having played the role of Joseph many decades ago I’m extremely excited to join Dreamcoat Stars – one of whom I may have helped to discover – to celebrate music, theatre and family. I can’t wait to sing a few of my all time favourite songs from my career and albums. I look forward to seeing you later this year to entertain you and have a great time with the guys! ” said Barrowman.

John will appear at Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone on Tuesday 17th October, Swansea Grand Theatre on Thursday 19th October and Victoria Hall, Stoke-on-Trent Saturday 21st October.

The show is performed by four lead male vocalists who have all previously held the esteemed title of Joseph. Further casting to be announced soon.

Grab your coat of many colours and join our Josephs on an emotional journey where Any Dream Will Do.
