To support the ongoing fight against Covid in our communities, free lateral flow tests (LFTs) are now available for collection from a number of locations across the city.

A maximum of two boxes will be available per person, with each box containing seven individual tests.

LFTs are also available from pharmacies (where to get rapid lateral flow tests – NHS) or can be ordered at gov.uk or by calling 119.

    When to use an LFT

If you are over the age of 11 you should regularly take lateral flow tests and report your results. LFTs are available for everyone free of charge.

Lateral flow tests are for people who do not have Covid-19 symptoms. If you have any symptoms, you should book a PCR test (on gov.uk).

In addition to testing regularly, you should also take a LFT test:

    • if you are going to be in higher risk situations, including spending time in crowded or enclosed spaces
    • before you visit people who are at a higher risk of severe illness from Covid-19
    • you are travelling to other areas of Wales or the UK
    • if you are identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REPORT YOUR RESULTS

This can be done online (fastest) at: www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result or by telephone on 119 (free from mobiles and landlines).  Lines are open every day, 7am to 11pm.
