Lidl GB has confirmed that its new supermarket on Ffordd Tirwaun in Aberdare will open for the first time on Thursday 28th July.

The new, modern store will create around 40 new jobs for the local community and feature the supermarket’s famous in-store bakery, customer toilets including baby-changing facilities and ample parking for cars and bicycles.

During the opening weekend, customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Grillmeister BBQ Pizza Box (£19.99) on Thursday 28th July, a Florabest Party Table with Ice Bucket (£24.99) on Friday 29th July and a Silvercrest 30cm Desk Fan (£12.99) on Saturday 30th July – all perfect things to get the most from the Summer!

The store opening times are between 8am – 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday, delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, George Ledward, commented: “It is fantastic that we are able to open our doors and welcome everyone into our new store in Aberdare. We have received overwhelming support from local residents, and we would like to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering this new store. We now look forward to serving our multi-award winning products to even more people within the local community.”

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl GB now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK.
