Front Runner Events are proud to announce a new headline partner for the award-winning Llanelli Half Marathon.  M and D Care will be the main sponsor for the event, which is a well-established race with a long history in the community of South West Wales.

M and D Care was founded in 2008 and has been delivering specialist, complex and bespoke care services throughout South West Wales for people with Learning Disability, Physical Disability and Mental Health diagnosis. It is a company that has grown steadily over recent years and has collected the West Wales Business of the Year Award 2020. M and D Care has also picked up awards in 2020 for Staff Learning and Development and Best Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Service. M and D Care employ 325 staff in the area and provides care and support to over 200 people.

Michelle Martin, Clinical Director, M and D Care said:

“We are proud to become the headline sponsor and title partner of the Llanelli Half Marathon. It is a fantastic event that brings the whole community together. As a local family run business, we feel, now more than ever before, that it’s important to come together and support events which promote good health and wellbeing. We see exercise as an integral part of physical and mental wellbeing, and this is something we actively encourage amongst our staff and the people we support.”

“Here at M & D Care we share similar values to the Front Runner Events team, we are an inclusive company which supports people to achieve their goals and aspirations.  We are passionate about our community and hope that this shared vision will extend to the wider community and beyond so that together we can achieve and overcome any barriers put in front of us.”

Llanelli Half Marathon will take place in October 2021

David Martin-Jewell, Managing Director, Front Runner Events said:

“I am thrilled to announce our new headline partner for the Llanelli Half, and we are very much looking forward to working in partnership with M and D Care. M&D are a great team and an excellent fit for us and the event. The synergy and vision to work in partnership and to increase community involvement show the care they have for their employees and the communities in which they work. I am very excited to see what we can achieve together in 2021.”

The Llanelli Half Marathon was taken over by Front Runner Events in 2016 with the inaugural event held the following year. It is a race that has grown strongly over the years, attracting participants from all over the world. It was in fact only one of a few events throughout that managed to proceed in 2020, which was hosted at the Scarlets stadium. Since then, the team have worked extremely hard to bring events back and as a result will be hosting the event later in 2021. An exact date is yet to be announced (due to rugby fixtures) but is likely to take place on October 31st 2021.
