Lewis Sawdon, 30, and Ffion Evans 24, of Maesteg, have been jailed for possession with intent to supply class A drugs

Officers executed a warrant at their home in January 2021 following concerns raised from the local community. Sawdon and Evans were found in possession of cocaine, with a street value of £3,590, and heroin, worth £2,000. Officers also found scales with residue from drugs on it, and £580 in cash.

The pair were then also later stopped by officers in April 2021, when they were seen acting suspiciously in Maesteg.

When arrested they were found in possession of heroin, cash and a mobile phone. A further search was carried out at their home where heroin with a street value of £400 was found aswell as scales and £1100 in cash.

Sawdon and Evans pleaded guilty and were sentenced last week at Cardiff Crown Court. Sawdon was sentenced to four years imprisonment while Evans to a total of 25 months imprisonment.

Sergeant Richard Lea said,“This was a protracted and very long running into drug supply on Tudor Estate, in reaction to concern from members of the local community.

The actions of Sawdon and Evans caused considerable concern to the local community, and they will undoubtedly be reassured at the long custodial sentences that they have received.

If you would like to report anything to Police relating to illegal drug supply, you can do so anonymously to Crimestoppers 0800 555111.”
