South Wales Police are investigating after a man reportedly drove a bulldozer into a pub in Rhigos on Thursday night.

Officers were called shortly after 8.45pm on December 4 following reports that a bulldozer had been used to damage a pub on Smiths Avenue. The vehicle is also said to have driven over a parked car that was unoccupied at the time.

Police believe the event may have been targeted rather than a random act. An investigation is now under way to establish what led to the incident.

A 35 year old man from the Rhigos area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH, dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drink or drugs and criminal damage. He is currently in hospital.

    No one else was hurt.

Officers say the situation was brought under control quickly and thanked members of the public for their patience and support while the incident was dealt with.
