A man has been charged with drug offences after police officers witnessed suspicious activity while patrolling Grangetown in Cardiff.
Officers were patrolling the area in an unmarked police car on Saturday lunchtime when they spotted what appeared to be a drugs exchange taking place from a VW Polo in Ferry Road.
The driver and vehicle were subsequently searched.
South Wales Police said officers seized drugs worth £745 and approximately £1,500 in cash.
Kurt Lavender, 32, from Butetown, has been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on September 22.
South Wales Police described the incident as an example of proactive policing taking place in Grangetown.
The force said: “We are committed to tackling drug-related crime, disrupting those involved in criminality, and keeping our communities safe.”
