    Man dies in early morning incident on St Mary Street in Cardiff

    South Wales Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Cardiff city centre during the early hours of this morning.

    Officers were called at approximately 4.50am today (Sunday 21st July) to St Mary’s Street following reports of an assault.

    Significant police enquiries are on-going in the area, the deceased man has not yet been formally identified.

    A number of officers and the police helicopter continue to be in the area and a number of cordons remain in place while investigations continues.
