Independent café operator Milk & Sugar has opened a new restaurant service at Eastern Business Park in Cardiff, providing top class food and coffee for both the businesses on its doorstep and the local area.

Owners of the Grade A business park, Robert Hitchins Ltd, invested heavily in refurbishing the restaurant area which extends to more than 5,000 sq ft and includes an al fresco dining terrace.

Chef Martina, and Tim Corrigan of Milk And Sugar, front, John James and Karen Vaughan-Edwards, asset managers with Robert Hitchins, in the new Milk and Sugar cafe and kitchen, at the Eastern Business Park, Cardiff.

Taking on the café, kitchen and workspace operation is a new venture for Milk&Sugar owner, Tim Corrigan, who opened his first café in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. His flagship business is the hugely popular Milk&Sugar at One Central Square, Cardiff.

“This is an incredible opportunity in a great working environment,” he said.

“Robert Hitchins were very innovative in providing large, open-plan catering facilities at Eastern Business Park and invested heavily in the facilities. What we’ve done is add the finishing touches to create a place where people can relax, eat fantastic food in a great environment which will hopefully become the heartbeat and hub of the park.”

There is plenty of space to allow table service only and social distancing, in line with the latest Covid guidelines.

“The space is incredible,” Tim added. “We can look after 100 people very comfortably and still comply with Covid regulations. We’ve been using App technology for five years so it’s easy for people to pre-order lunch from their desk, home or on their way to work.

“Everything on our menus, from our full breakfasts to lunch, brunch dishes and salads, are all made to order. We use great seasonal produce from local suppliers and markets. We take great pride in our food and what we provide to our customers overall including using the world-renowned coffee Illy.”

Asset Manager at Robert Hitchins, Karen Vaughan-Edwards, is delighted to see the transformation that Milk&Sugar has made.

“We listened to what our tenants wanted and decided they’d be a good fit. Their food is amazing,” she said.

“It’s a great service for all our tenants, visitors to the business park, parents who drop their children off at the Plantos nursery along with the gym users from energie Fitness.”

The offices at Eastern Business Park are spread across three different buildings in a campus-style environment.

Its location (five minutes from the M4 at St Mellons), 900 on-site parking spaces, cycling storage and showers give plenty of access options.
