International Working Group (IWG) is set to open co-working spaces, private offices, meeting rooms and creative areas at a state-of-the-art new development in Swansea city centre.

The company is now fitting out close to 20,000 square feet at the 71/72 Kingsway scheme, expanding its network to keep pace with rising demand across South Wales for more flexible ways of working.

Developed by Swansea Council and part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, office space at the development is already 80% let.

IWG is the world’s largest platform for work with brands including Spaces and Regus. Their Design Your Own Office service allows companies to tailor their spaces entirely to their requirements.

Due to open in the coming months, IWG’s new space at the 71/72 Kingsway scheme follows the company adding a record number of locations globally in the first half of 2025, signing 496 centres and achieving highest ever revenue.

Their network now comprises more than one million rooms in 121 countries.

Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of International Workplace Group PLC, said: “We are establishing a stronger and much-needed footprint in South Wales with this latest opening.

“As an important business hub, Swansea is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans. We are very pleased to work in partnership with Swansea Council to add cutting-edge workspace to the 71/72 Kingsway building.

“Our opening in Swansea comes at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible and platform working is incredibly popular with employees, improving their work-life balance and satisfaction, while also providing a multitude of benefits to companies.

“Our workplace model is proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs while providing access to thousands of locations.”

Cllr Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council, said: “We’re delighted that IWG is now fitting out its space at 71/72 Kingsway, building on the momentum created by other tenants who are already operating from the development.

“Their arrival is another strong vote of confidence in Swansea city centre and reflects the growing demand for high-quality, flexible workspaces alongside the range of businesses already based here.

“With companies like Tui, Veeqo, Optical Express and sk:n, Futures First and IWG choosing 71/72 Kingsway, the scheme is playing a key role in attracting and retaining jobs, increasing footfall and supporting wider regeneration across the city centre.”

Once completely occupied, the 71/72 Kingsway development will accommodate up to 600 jobs and be worth £32.6m a year to Swansea’s economy.
