New digital signage helps Watches of Wales take flight

A RENOWNED luxury watch brand celebrating 10 years in business has taken flight after the pandemic with the support of a leading digital signage and advertising company.

A partnership with Route Media and enhanced digital and print presence at Cardiff Airport has helped Watches of Wales bounce back from the challenges of Covid-19.

Based in the city’s Morgan Arcade, the family-run company is led by founder and director Paul Hornblow, who says the installation of vinyl wrap signage, a lightbox, posters and digital screens at the airport had a positive impact on raising the company’s profile at home and on the international stage.

And sponsorship of top sports sides and individuals – including Welsh boxers Liam Jones and Liam Williams – has also driven new customers to the retailer, among them VIPs such as F1 TV presenter Steve Jones, rugby star Leigh Halfpenny and footballer Aaron Ramsey.

“We have worked in partnership with the team at Route Media for some time and this latest series of advertisements at Cardiff Airport has been very beneficial now that we are returning to normality and people are travelling abroad on holiday again,” said Paul.

“With the majority of sales now online this kind of brand awareness plays a huge role in getting our name out there.

“At certain sites in the terminal we have a captive audience, so the signage is very eye catching and engaging.”

He added: “It’s obviously been a challenging few years for everyone, so it was the right time to invest in digital media.

“Given that we have customers all over the world, what better location to do so?”

Route Media sales director Dean Jones is pleased to see Watches of Wales go from strength to strength.

“I’m delighted the signage is capturing the attention of passengers, the brand is well-known in Wales and on the global stage, so this was the perfect platform to advertise its range of luxury products,” said Dean.

“We wish Paul the very best and look forward to unveiling some exciting new partnerships in the coming months.”
