A new bus service connecting communities between Rhyl and Wrexham launches today.

The TrawsCymru T51 will make bus travel easier between Rhyl, Denbigh, Ruthin and Wrexham.

The changes – part of Network North Wales – increase the number of buses running between Ruthin and Wrexham to hourly (from two-hourly) and introduces a new hourly service between Wrexham and Rhyl on Sundays.

The T51 has replaced the existing 51/X51 service and will be operated by Arriva.

Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales Ken Skates says:

“I’m pleased to see the start of better connectivity in this part of Wales starts today thanks to our work on Network North Wales.

“Improving public transport is the key to unlocking the potential of the region and this new TrawsCymru service offering more frequent buses is a great example of that.”

Lee Robinson, Executive Director for Regional Transport and Integration at Transport for Wales, says:

“The T51 is an early milestone for Network North Wales, showing how better coordinated bus and rail services will open up opportunities across the region.

“The new service will help transform travel in North Wales giving people more frequent and convenient connections between Rhyl, Denbigh, Ruthin and Wrexham.

“Better frequencies, simpler fares and improved ticketing make public transport a genuine everyday option for more people, supporting local jobs and education.”

The new T51 will also come with simplified and lower fares, and digital ticketing options.
