The ABP Newport Marathon has now sold out with five months to go until race day.

General entries into the half marathon distance have also been snapped up which means the only way to now enter either distance is through the Business Challenge or a charity space.

The races are part of the ABP Newport Marathon Festival which takes place in the city of Newport on Sunday 19 April.

They sit alongside a 10K and Mile option, both of which still have spaces available, as well as a series of junior races, allowing something for all ages and abilities to take part in.

All courses have been devised by Run 4 Wales Race Director and double Olympic marathoner, Steve Brace.

The half marathon distance was added to the mix for the first time in 2024 and sees runners take on part of the marathon course, which is famed for its flat and fast nature – so much so that the course has been named in a list of one of the fastest marathons in the World by Runners World magazine with nearly 70% of all finishers claiming a PB on the route.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at Run 4 Wales, said: “Both the ABP Newport Marathon and Half Marathon have sold out in record speed for 2026, and we’re thrilled that the races have become so popular.

“The demand this year has been incredible, and it’s inspiring to see so many runners – both new and returning – commit to being part of the event. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Newport for what promises to be an unforgettable race weekend.”
