Soak up the last of summer and experience the magic of cinema under the stars as The Luna Cinema, along with headline partners Little Moons, returns to Cardiff Castle in Wales from the 2nd – 4th September 2022 with three nights of open-air cinema.

A star venue in the 2022 Luna summer season (which consists of more than 150 screenings in more than 40 jaw-dropping locations across the nation) Cardiff Castle makes for a truly unique backdrop to a movie, with the big screen located in the grounds of the medieval castle.

The programme features a line-up of both classic and new film favourites – back on the big screen as originally intended. Screenings include the biographical musical drama of Elton John’s life Rocketman, Oscar winning West Side Story, and the popular perennial Grease.

Tickets for Cardiff Castle are on sale now, and can be purchased at thelunacinema.com/venue/cardiff-castle/ – best to act now as tickets are selling fast with some VIP seating options already sold out.

Visitors can cosy up with their plus-one for the evening on Luna’s brand-new Date Night Double Deckchair or upgrade their general admission ticket by hiring a Director’s Chair for the evening. For the ultimate VIP experience guests can opt for the Luna Luxe Sofa, which offers two people the chance to watch the film from luxury sofa seating with blankets, heaters, and a bottle of bubbly.

A variety of delicious food partners will be present at all screenings, as well as a full bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including BrewDog beer, Bathtub Gin, sparkling wine, cocktails, Lyre’s Non-alcoholic Spirits and more. A number of tasty movie snack options are also available for pre-order, including Little Moon’s delicious bite sized mochi balls – the perfect treat for a summers’ evening! Audiences are welcome to dig out their hampers and pack a picnic of their own for their movie night (though the bringing of alcohol to the events is restricted).
