Adrian Russell Coxon, 48, of St. Mary Close, Pencoed, was arrested in November 2021 after we received a report from the victim that they had been sexually assaulted.

He appeared in court on Thursday, May 2, where he was sentenced to six years in prison for sexual assault by penetration and supply of Class C drugs. He was also made to sign onto the Sex Offenders Register and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

    Detective Constable Rebecca Evans said:

“Whilst no sentence will make up for the impact he has had on the victim, I hope the conclusion of this lengthy court process will allow them to move forward with their life in the knowledge that speaking out has uncovered Adrian Coxon as the sexual offender he is.

“I would like to thank the victim for their support and immense bravery throughout the investigation. We know how hard it is to approach the police, especially when reporting a crime of this nature, and I hope this sentencing today will provide a small measure of comfort to them.

“Our focus for this case, as with every sexual offence case, is securing justice for the victim-survivor and I would encourage others to report sexual assault to us.

“We know the devastating impact that sexual offences can have.  We take reports of sexual assault very seriously and will always treat reports of this nature with the confidentiality and sensitivity they deserve.”
