    Pensioner in critical condition following A4119 Coedely collision

    South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision involving a silver Toyota Corolla and a dark blue Peugeot 207  at approximately 11:10am yesterday (Wednesday, August 7).

    A 76-year-old female passenger of the Peugeot is in a critical condition at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

    Three others were also taken to hospital with minor injuries –  two men aged 83 and 47 from the Peugeot and 71-year-old female driver, and sole occupant, of the Toyota.
    The A4119 between Coedely and Thomastown was closed for approximately four hours to allow for investigation work.

    Officers would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this time.

    Witnesses to the collision, drivers with dash cam footage of the incident or anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision, are asked to please contact  South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence 1900290092.
