The construction of a new Multi-Functional Cadet and Sports Pavilion at Morgan Jones Park has recently been agreed by Cabinet.

The new Multi-Functional Cadet and Sports Pavilion will be delivered as a joint project with the Ministry of Defence. It will provide cadet organisations and clubs a place to provide youth activities for young people across the borough and local community. The creation will see a new RAF and Army Cadet Hall and Bowls Pavilion within the same building.

Local ward member and Deputy Leader Cllr Jamie Pritchard said, “The Air Cadets and Bowls Clubs have a membership that spans the wider Caerphilly area, the creation of a new facility will hopefully increase the membership. This joint venture is a great example of partnership working, and the good use of Council reserves”.

Cllr Shayne Cook, Local Ward Member and Cabinet Member for Housing said, “I am very pleased to second an amazing joint project between CCBC and the MOD to create a new Multi-Functional Cadet and Sport Pavilion in Morgan Jones Park. I’m glad to see further investment in Morgan Jones Park following on from previously secured investment in the Skate Park and Splash Pad”.
