Popeyes Cardiff will officially open its doors today and this is what you can expect.

Customers are invited to join the queue from 9am, and the restaurant will open at 11am with a Mardi Gras band counting down, and entertaining those who have come to grab a first look!

The first three people in the queue will win a year’s supply of Popeyes legendary chicken sandwich with the first 25 customers also set to bag a free Chicken Sandwich and exclusive Popeyes merch.

This will be the chain’s 14th UK restaurant in less than two years and they have plans to open even more this year.

The US food chain is famed across the world for its delicious Louisiana chicken recipe and is a must try for Chicken-lovers. From sandwiches to wraps and our personal favourite, chicken tenders, there is something for everyone.

Customers can choose to order their meals in advance for pick up or from one of the digital kiosks located in store. You can also visit the counter to order as well if you prefer. There will be a friendly host to greet at the door, which is a little different to most ‘fast food’ restaurants, however, this personal touch will ensure you have the best experience when you visit.

Chicken fans in Cardiff will be able to experience Popeyes® world famous ‘shatter crunch’ for themselves once they get their hands on the mouth-watering menu, including the iconic Popeyes® Chicken Sandwich which contains the brand’s 12-hour marinated chicken, and original Southern biscuits and gravy.

All of Popeyes chicken is prepared fresh on the day by the Cardiff team, who have undergone specialist training to ensure they deliver the goods. The Cardiff restaurant will employ more than 100 members of staff to keep up with the roaring demand that they’ve come to expect with their store openings.

There are 9 different dips to choose from to suit all matters of taste buds. Choose from Mango Habanero, which is surprisingly sweet. Or if you prefer the heat without the sweet then go all out and choose the Louisiana Hot. The Mardis Gras Mustard is absolutely incredibly and is guarantee to be nothing like you’ve had before – super fresh bursting with full on flavour. There is also the Bold BBQ if you prefer, and is one of the chain’s bestsellers here in the UK.

If milkshakes are your thing then look no further. There are six amazing flavours to choose from, including the hand spin Oreo and Lotus Biscoff, both pictured above. If you’d prefer to stick with a more traditional dessert, then they have you covered as well with similar flavoured sundae versions.

Popeyes® is on a mission for further expansion, with 20 new restaurants expected to open in 2023, including drive-thru – and potentially even more on the menu for Wales with Swansea to follow in the coming months.

Popeyes® Cardiff will open on 6-7 Saint John Street from 11am on Thursday 23rd March and will seat up to 86 people.
