pecialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the assignment of the lease of The Cow Shed in Tremadog, a well‑established hospitality venue in Wales.

A longstanding and much‑loved stop for walkers, climbers, cyclists, locals, and visitors exploring the wider Porthmadog and Eryri area, The Cow Shed combines an attractive roadside presence with a warm, community‑focused offer. The distinctive Cow Shed brand, successfully introduced post‑pandemic, provides a strong foundation for future development under its new operators.

Located just outside Porthmadog, the Cow Shed offers flexible indoor and outdoor dining spaces, ample customer parking, and access to one of North Wales’ busiest visitor routes.

Following a sales process with James Dodd at Christie & Co, the lease has been formally transferred to Craig and Richard, who operate a number of successful hospitality ventures across the region. Their plans include a refreshed vision for the premises and the introduction of Y Beudy Steakhouse, offering breakfasts, lunches, and an elevated evening menu centred around hand‑cut steaks, complemented by a curated selection of world wines and locally sourced Welsh beverages and spirits.

The landlords, Gareth and Jo, commented, “It is wonderful that our new tenants recognised the potential of this location, including the rapid EV charging and adjacent glamping site, along with the Cow Shed theme and brand that was successfully established post‑pandemic. We are confident that they will leverage their experience, drive, and enthusiasm for hospitality to lead the next phase of Y Beudy/Cow Shed. We wish them every success moving forward.”

New leaseholders, Craig and Richard, added: “We’re delighted to be taking on The Cow Shed and investing in a location with such a loved history and connection to the community. The site has long served adventurers, locals and visitors, and we’re excited to build on that legacy with our refreshed vision. Our plans for Y Beudy Steakhouse reflect our commitment to great food, great hospitality and year‑round employment opportunities for the area. We’re looking forward to bringing new energy to the premises while honouring everything that has made The Cow Shed special.”

James Dodd, Business Agent – Pubs & Restaurants, who managed the sale, commented, “This assignment brings together an iconic gateway site with experienced operators who understand the opportunity inside‑out. With strong footfall, diversified income and now the ability to capture EV customers, The Cow Shed is perfectly positioned for sustainable growth. Congratulations to all parties involved.”
