Could you support children and young people who urgently need temporary foster care?

Your local authority fostering team are looking for foster carers across Powys, but in particular emergency foster carers.

By becoming an emergency foster carer you’ll help local children and young people who need someone to listen to them, someone to love them and somewhere to call home for a short period of time.

Councillor Rachel Powell, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, says; “Situations can quickly arise in which a child needs immediate care and support, so they need foster carers who are able to welcome them into their homes. This can be unplanned and at short notice to provide the comfort they need.

“There are many reasons why children and young people need emergency placements, and it can be a very stressful and upsetting time for them, so if you have what it takes to support them and make a difference, I urge you to get in touch.”

The council is offering to help candidates every step of the way with all the support and expertise you need, you’ll receive 24/7 support as well as a generous financial allowance, including £100 per night for emergency placements.

If you’re interested and want to find out more call the Powys team on 0800 22 30 627 email [email protected] or visit www.powys.fosterwales.gov.wales
